Get inspired for your next trip

First things first, you have to decide where to go. That’s already a challenge since there are so many amazing places around the world.

Pinterest

One of my favourite apps to use when planning a new trip is Pinterest.
You can search by destination and find specific locations or sites, or just type in “travel inspiration” and see what catches your eye.

Instagram

Everyone gets inspired by scrolling all the amazing photos on Instagram, so why not use it to plan your next trip? You can search by destination or by hashtags, and then click through related content as well.

Find the cheapest flights

We are all looking for the best flight deals, and there are tons of websites out there claiming to have them. I have 2 personal favourites when it comes to apps finding you the cheapest flights.

Skyscanner

Skyscanner is my go-to app to find the best flight deals. It gives you the basic benefit of comparing multiple airlines, but the real bonus is that you can save specific flights and monitor the prices.

Secret Flying

Not so much a booking tool but a great way to keep an eye on time-restricted deals, SecretFlying gets updated flights multiple times a day.

Find the perfect place to stay

Once you booked your flights you’ll want a great place to stay. With my favorite travel apps you can find anything from hotels or AirBnB’s to unique accommodation like tree houses or converted trains.

Booking.com

A simple and easy to use app is booking.com. You can search by destination and use their filters if you want specific things to be included, like balconies, private pools, gyms or parking.

Booking.com

Air BnB

Through AirBnB you can rent affordable places directly from their owners. You can find simple things like apartments or houses but there are also some unique places like hobbit homes in New Zealand or tree houses in Bali.

How to get from A to B

Getting from one spot to the next doesn’t just need to be cheap, it also needs to be convenient. And what’s more convenient than a travel app that helps you plan not only the cheapest route but also the quickest?

Rome2Rio

One of the best apps to get from A to B is Rome2Rio. Pick your starting point and destination and the app will give you all available transportation options from plane to bus to ferry, including the different prices.

12GO

Especially in countries where you don’t speak the language and can’t even read the signs it can be tricky to find the best way to get from A to B. If your’re traveling in Asia, 12GO is a great travel app to book tickets for any kind of transportation.

Keep your itinerary in one place with TripIt

Once you booked everything for your next trip you have to keep track of all the information and documents. The easiest way is to use the TripIt app. You can fill it with your flight schedule, hotel booking confirmations and activities you want to do each day.
